A celebration of the life of Daniel Louis “Dan” Little will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Sperry under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Sunday at the funeral home from 1-5 with family receiving visitors from 3-5.

Dan passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. He was 65. 
     
Born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas on June 30, 1949 to Robert and Yvonne (Watkins) Little. Dan was reared and educated in Sperry, Oklahoma where he not only graduated with the class of 1967 but also served as class President during all of his high school years.

Dan continued his education at Tulsa Technology where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in General Drafting.

In September of 1969 Dan was drafted into the United States Army where he earned the rank of Sargent and served as a correctional officer with the military police until 1971. 

In 1973 Dan continued his higher education and attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Touristry Management.

Dan then began his work career at Lowrance Electronics where he was a warehouse foreman until his retirement in 2004. 
     
In 1981 Dan married Debbie Denson in a Miami, Oklahoma wedding ceremony.

Family holidays were a favorite for Dan; he loved Halloween and was never too old to enjoy trick or treating. A practical joker with a great sense of humor, Dan loved to make people laugh and smile.

Every year during the Christmas season since 1980, Dan played Santa Claus for his company Christmas parties and family get-togethers. 

Fall was his favorite time of year as he enjoyed watching the colorful change of the seasons especially in the beautiful area surrounding Tahlequah.

As a nature lover, Dan liked fishing and hunting especially in his special spot near Kenwood.

His favorite travel destination was Yellowstone National Park where he relished the beauty of nature. 
     
A big fan of western movies, one of Dan’s favorite actors was John Wayne. He also enjoyed Hopalong Cassidy and the Cisco Kid movies.

Dan enjoyed the old western swing music and the sounds of Gene Autry.

Some of Dan’s other favorite pastimes include writing poetry, cooking, travel and reading, especially favorite author Larry McCurty, the author of the Lonesome Dove series. 
     
This loving husband and brother will be missed by all whose lives he touched.

Dan is survived by his wife Debbie Little; siblings Billy Little, Janice Elliot and husband Ralph, Joe Little and wife Sue, Debby Quarles and husband Don;

sister-in-law Cathy Farmer and husband Dwight; father-in-law John W. Denson and wife Betty; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law Evelyn Denson.
