Linda Sue Hancock, 61, of Bakerton, WV passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born July 29, 1953 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Daugherty and Geraldine VanGosen Daugherty.

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Linda was a Harpers Ferry Alumni and an avid gardener. She was a gentle soul who gave and drew many smiles and friendships after the many years at the Hilltop House and La Mezzaluna Restaurant.

She is survived by her daughter, Mattelynn Hancock and husband, Creine “Jose” Mejia of Bakerton, WV; companion, Gerald Robinson of Bakerton, WV; two sisters, Sandra Kay Daugherty Walker of Hagerstown, MD and Margaret Ann Daugherty Perini of Williamsport, MD; two grandchildren, Peter and Gabriel Mejia of Bakerton, WV; two nieces, Natasha Cortez-Caja of Bakerton, WV and Danielle Perini Hartenstein of Lander, WY and three great nieces, Samantha, Jaslyn and Emilia.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Louis E. Perini.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Bakerton, WV with Rev. Melissa Hamill Rudolph officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.

The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Sunday evening from 5-8 pm.
