John F. Switzer John Franklin "Butch" Switzer, 70, of Luray, died on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1943, in Shenandoah and was a son of the late John H. Switzer and Mildred V. Phillips Switzer.
Mr. Switzer worked as a press operator for Wallace Business Forms for 25 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the New Market Eagles, Shenandoah Moose Lodge, Colonial Beach American Legion and the VFW Avis O. Comer Post 8613 of Shenandoah.
He is survived by a son, Scott Switzer of Shenandoah; a brother, Kenneth Switzer of Kentucky; his companion, Tammy S. Good of Luray; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Eric Croft. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Shenandoah, with military honors by the VFW Avis O. Comer Post 8613.
The family was to receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Market Eagles' Building Fund.
