son of Jacob B. Golladay and Mahala Eglentine Combs;
husband of Rebecca Catharine "Kate" Nelson;
grandfather to Ann (Livingston) Jones.
Ann (Livingston) Jones said, "Grandpa Golladay had a general store between Oakland and Ashmore, IL. He lived with his sister Aunt Florence. He used to let me hold the reins of the horses on a few occasions in a buggy on the trip home from Ashmore a few miles distance from home. He had a moustache and gray headed when I first remember him. I liked to watch him eat and drink coffee; his moustache fascinated me and the only person I knew who had one. He had a good sense of humor - of few words- but a hearty laugh! He always walked with a cane and had a little dog. Mom loved Grandpa and he knew it. Mom cared for Grandpa in later years and was her 'choice and favorite' patient in her 16 bed Nursing home in Charleston, IL until his death at approx. 90 years of age. He is buried in a little country cemetery near Ashmore.
