Mr. Hager, 69, of South Charleston, Loudon District was killed by shotgun wound on his farm, which was ruled an accident.

He was the son of Mitchell H. and Vernila Wall Hager. He was widowed.

He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Headstone insription: WV Pvt 11 Inf.

Burial in the Hager plot at the Harless* Family Cemetery, Alum Creek on 10 April 1946 according to the death certificate. Snodgrass Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
*Harless Family Cemetery is the correct name for this cemetery, started by my great-grandfather. So many insist on calling it Childress and it has led to a good deal of confusion as to where someone is interred. However, the family cemetery is full and I am sure the other plots given by my grandfather, to the Hager and Turley families are just about full also.

Additionally, if you are reading the death certificate, the birth year is incorrect (1946); it should read 1876.
