Alligood & Victoria Williams Alligood; and his maternal grandparents William Braswell & Almira Carlisle Braswell; brothers, Archie Alligood & Clarence S Alligood; and sisters, Edna Alligood & Erie Alligood are all buried in Crawfordville Cemetery, Wakulla County, FL. His sister, Grace Alligood Council, is buried in the Council Cemetery in Wakulla County, FL. Three of his brothers, Amos M Alligood, Henry Stewart Alligood, & William C Alligood are buried in Gillette Cemetery, Manatee County. And his brother, Walter Wallace Alligood (1901-1966) is buried in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Hillsborough Co.

James Q. Alligood, who spent several careers and much of his life on the water, has died at 99.
Mr. Alligood, operator of a marine supply store on Salt Creek for nearly 20 years and commander of the Coast Guard station at St. Petersburg after World War II, died Sunday at Edward White Hospital.
A Coast Guard veteran of the Pacific campaign in World War II, he retired as a lieutenant commander in 1948 and joined the U.S. Merchant Marine. He served as a first officer for two decades.
For 15 years, as a member of the Master Mates and Pilots Union, he was a ships navigator. He also lived on a boat and owned an island off Aripeka.
He opened Alligood Marine in Marathon in 1969 and moved it to Salt Creek in 1975.
Mr. Alligood was a Mason and a member of the Florida Sheriffs Boys Ranch.
In his youth, he earned awards for marksmanship and coached the rifle team at the Coast Guard Academy, his family said. As a welterweight boxer for the Coast Guard national team, he won 46 of 52 bouts.
Survivors include a daughter, Arlene M. Alligood of Washington, D.C., and St. Petersburg; and a niece, Mary Audrey Hornsby, Palmetto.
