Phannenstiel, 66, died March 13 at Brighton Community Hospital. He was born April 5, 1915 in Munjor, Kan.

On June 8, 1937 he married Florine Suppes in Hays, Kan. She died in 1978.

Phannenstiel was a farmer. He was a member of Brighton Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by two sons, Gerald, Brighton, and Ronald, Wheat Ridge; a daughter, Shirley Garramore, Westminister; a brother, Joseph, Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Helen Dinkle, Hays, and Christine Kreutzer, Arcadia, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
