Judith Dianne Baird, daughter of Paul and Alice (Carstensen) Baird, was born October 3, 1941, in Redfield, SD. She grew up in Frankfort, SD and attended school in Frankfort and Redfield. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1959. Judith then enrolled at South Dakota State University. On March 17, 1963, she married George Hurst in Frankfort, SD. Judith graduated from SDSU with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. The couple then moved to Redfield, SD where she worked as a Registered Nurse and later Director of Nursing at Community Memorial Hospital. In 1991 they moved to Sioux Falls where she began working as an R. N. at Sioux Valley Hospital. She retired in 2005.
Survivors include her husband, George Hurst, Sioux Falls; children, Janelle Hurst, Redfield, SD, William Hurst, and Jeffrey (Sandi) Hurst, both of Sioux Falls, and Michelle (Greg) Hoekman, Nashville, AR; 4 grandchildren, Porsha Ludowise, and Dakota, Emma and Madilyn Hurst; siblings, John (Marguarite) Baird, Ashland, NC, Dona Baird, Chico, CA, Jan Meile, Hartford, SD, B.L. Baird, Frankfort, SD, and Paula (David) Lorenz, West Chester, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Stanley.
