She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Jackson Blankenship; parents, Marvin E. and Margie C. Humphrey; and brother, Eldon Humphrey.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Blankenship Jackson (Harry) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, Robert Stephen Blankenship (Lucy) of Lilburn, Ga.; grandchildren, Robert Stephen Blankenship, Jr. (Malena) of Acworth, Ga., Karen Lynn Blankenship of Kennesaw, Ga., Martha Ellen Jackson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Harry Christopher Jackson, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; and daughter-in-law, Julie Blankenship of Kennesaw, Ga.
Doris Humphrey Blankenship was born on January 21, 1935 in Kellerman, Alabama. Before graduating from Brookwood High School in 1953, Doris was a cheerleader and a member of the marching band. She married the love of her life, Harold Jackson "Jack" Blankenship, on June 5, 1954. Doris devoted her life to raising her family and being a special friend to many. She enjoyed volunteering at DCH Regional Medical Center and engaging in fellowship as a part of the Lee Class at First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa.
Pallbearers will be Donald Townsend, Dr. Samuel Gambrell, Robert Stephen Blankenship, Robert Stephen Blankenship, Jr., Harry Christopher Jackson, Jr., and Harry Christopher Jackson.
