Mrs. Ann Irvine Drain Gilliam passed away in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, October 22, 2014. She was 93 years old, being born in Ft. Benning, GA on April 8, 1921.

Mrs. Gilliam was a graduate of Union High School and attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega national sorority. She was a life-long member of Grace United Methodist Church and was an active member in the church circles. She served on the boards of the Girl Scout Council and the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Junior Charity League, the Junior Book Club, the Book and Garden Club, and the Friday Book Club.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Laurens Garlington Gilliam; by her parents, Brigadier General Jesse Cyrus Drain and Mrs. Clara Sarratt Drain; by a daughter Jessica Bonnie Hazelrigg; and, by a granddaughter, Pamela Fisch Scott.

Mrs. Gilliam is survived by three daughters: Charlene Hazelrigg Fisch of Rabun Gap, Georgia; Hunter Young Gilliam Olson and her husband, Marshall Kurt Olson of Lakewood, Colorado; and, Jan Gilliam Sturgis and husband, Wallace Edwin Sturgis of Asheville, NC. She has six grandchildren, listed in order of birth: May Fisch Davis (husband James Daniel Davis), Cory Austin Sturgis, Lydia Callan Sturgis, Henry Walker Olson, Rachel Lauren Olson, and Clayton Joseph Olson. Daniel Pace Davis is her great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service in the church.
