In 1934 Ethel married John Arthur "Art" Korhonen. One child was born of this union, Raymond.
Ethel lived in Northern Wisconsin her entire short life. She died on March 4, 1941 at the Wisconsin University Hospital which at the time was called Wisconsin General Hospital in Dane County, Wisconsin.
Ethel is buried next to her daughter Estella in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Cloverland, Douglas County, Wisconsin.
