OBITUARY - Tulsa Word, Dec. 11, 1940, Pg 11: G. C. Spitznagel, 52, Dies; Rites Today:Sand Springs, Dec. 10. Funeral services for Grover C. Spitznagel, 52 years old, former Sand Springs and Tulsa resident, who died Sunday at Brenda, Ariz., (rural Vicksburg, Yuma Co., Arizona) where he had lived for the past eight years, will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the R. L. Mobley Funeral chapel in Sand Springs. Dr. C. W. Kerr, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Tulsa will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodland cemetery. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Anne Spitznagel; two daughters Betty and Brenda Spitznagel, and four sons, David, Richard, Bruce and Grover Spitznagel, Jr., all of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Spitznagel of Sand Springs; a brother Keith Spitznagel of St. Louis, and four sisters, Mrs. Morris W. Turner, 3219 South Utica, Tulsa, Miss Claudine S. Spitznagel of 1407 East 15th St., Tulsa, Mrs. Clayton A. Lynch of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Esther Spitznagel of Wichita Falls, Texas.Birth Certificate: Male First child of this mother.
