PRINCETON - Douglas Lane fought to make the best of every day. On Oct., 24, 2012, he was defeated.

His giving nature and extreme compassion for others along with his ability to make those around him feel comfortable and share a laugh or smile will live on in the many lives he has touched. Doug was a graduate of West Windsor Plainsboro High School (Class of 1999), the University of Connecticut (B.A. 2005) and Mississippi State University (M.A. 2009). He lived in Pittsburgh, PA, with his wife and pets and worked for Ciber as a quality insurance coordinator, consulting at Highmark.

When Doug wasn't listening to music or playing video/board games, he enjoyed spending time with his family, helping others, cooking, and rooting for his favorite sports teams.

Doug is survived by his wife Lauren and their two pets Charlie and MJ, his parents Freda and Peter Lane, his sister Karin and her husband Rich, his nephew and niece Kyle and Meagan Dixon, his in laws and brother-in-law Raymond and Maureen, and David Galietti along with many other loving family and friends.

The funeral will be held Friday at 8:30 am Nov.r 2, 2012 at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home 40 Vandeventer Ave. Princeton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. David The King Church 1 New Village Rd. West Princeton Junction. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Hamilton Twp.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Douglas to Translational Neuroscience Program at the University of Pittsburgh, www.tnp.pitt.edu.
