Regina Diane Stephens was born on June 10, 1949 to the late Alexander Bellamy, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Bellamy. She lived in Biloxi, Mississippi until her graduation from Nichols Senior High School in 1967. For over 20 years, Regina was a military wife and mom. She traveled the world until she settled in Sacramento, California in the 1980's, Regina was deeply passionate about three things – her family, her job, and her friends. She was an outstanding mother to her two daughters – Sonja Colbert and Jacqueline Eggert – and to her son-in-law Michael Colbert, Sr. Regina also was the best grandmother anyone could ask for to her three grandchildren – Monique Colbert, Nicole Colbert, and Michael Colbert, Jr. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and we are pleased that her last day was spent with them. Regina worked in sales for her entire career. She had the privilege of working at Montgomery Wards and MetLife among other businesses. Her latest position was at Home Depot where she went above and beyond for every customer for over 10 years. The loss has deeply affected her co-workers, who fondly knew her as Regina Marie. Regina also was devoted to her partner, Solomon Scott. They were together for over 25 years and enjoyed sports together – basketball in particular. Go Heat! Regina was called home on October 5, 2014. She is survived by her brothers and sister – Alexander Bellamy, Jr., Ronald Bellamy, Sr., and Felicia Burton. Regina also is survived by her children, grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Regina is deeply missed by all who knew her. Though it feels like it was too soon, she is now in a place of peace and comfort.
