He was born October 8, 1930 in Penbrook, PA, a son of the late Sherman and Geraldine (Beck) Melcher.
Harry was of the Protestant faith, a U.S. Navy Veteran and has been employed in jewelry sales at the former Jewelcor and Gordon Jewelers in Harrisburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Detweiler) Melcher; Stepdaughter, Victoria Jean Pickett, as well as a brother and sister.
Surviving is a stepson, David G. Pickett of Myerstown; sister in law, Mary L. Erdman of Hershey; granddaughters, Jen Pickett, Melissa Evans, Sara Pickett and Jennifer Pickett; as well as 8 great grandchildren.
Private interment and services will be in Broad View Cemetery, Hershey.
