Thomas Conaty Jr., was a Detective for the Wilmington Police Department in Delaware. He served with the Police Force for 6 years. He died in the line of duty at age 30. While questioning two youths about a burglary of several revolvers from a store, one of them pulled out a gun and shot and killed him. One suspect was apprehended at the scene, the other fled. Detective Conaty is survived by a wife and three children.
