Steven Turner Lloyd, 59, of Hillsboro, formerly of Litchfield, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, in his home in Litchfield.
Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at All Nations Worship Center in Sunshine Park in Litchfield. The Rev. Kyle Blackerby will officiate. Inurnment will be in Waveland Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.
Mr. Turner was born on Oct. 5, 1955, in Fairchild, WA, the son of Fred "Sam" and Bertha Lucille (Woodruff) Lloyd. A graduate of Litchfield High School, he was employed by Coffeen Power Station as a repairman for 30 years and was a member of Local 148 in Collinsville. He was a member of Catch the Fire Church in Cowden and attended Latter Rain Ministries in Litchfield. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting mushrooms. He also enjoyed taking trips to Yellowstone National Park to take in the mountain views and camp and loved spending time with his friends. He especially loved his dog, Joe.
He had a keen interest in the International Scout and owned several of the trucks. He built his own home and crafted much of the wood flooring, trim and accessories himself, including a large pond behind his home.
In addition to his mother who survives in Litchfield, he is also survived by a sister, Laura Huckstep of Taylorville; nieces Sarah House of Taylorville, Maegen (Kevin) Trone of Hillsboro, and Beth (Drew) Edwards of Hillsboro; three great-nephews, Cooper House, Kade Edwards, and Kason Trone; and a great-niece, Meleah Edwards
He was preceded in death by his father.
