George W. Carson, 72, a retired musician, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, in Fort Worth.

Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Pastor David Goza will officiate, Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Memorials: Ridglea Presbyterian Church Choir, 6201 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76116.

Mr. Carson was born Aug 15, 1932, to Harold and Ruth Redding Carson. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, including 14 years in the military bands. He played French Horn in the Lockheed Community Band in Columbus, Ohio, and the Community Band of Southlake.

George was a Christian all of his life with a profession of faith at the age of 12. He was active in church activities for many years, including singing in choirs and director of music in several churches and he was an ordained deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church. When his health began to fail, his expressed goal was to be able to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary. He not only reached that goal, but also was given another year.

Survivors: Wife of 51 years, Ethel Marie Carson, sons, Clarence and his wife, Kris, of Fort Worth and Bruce of Fort Worth; daughters, Loretta Dennis and husband, Rodger, and Mary Cole and husband, Kevin, of Fort Worth; brother, John Carson of Fort Worth; sister, Jackie Blackburn of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
