The service will be 11 a.m. Sunday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Whitacre was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Cold Stream, W.Va. She
She worked for Marcy's Garment and Mfg. in York, retiring in 1976 after eight years of service. She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Potosie.
Mrs. Whitacre also is survived by a son, Phillip T. Whitacre of Glen Rock; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, William Eaton of Winchester, Va.; and a sister, Frances Rinker of Ormond Beach, Fla. Mrs. Whitacre was preceded in death by a son, James Whitacre; and a daughter, Barbara Ann Miller.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dennis McCleary. 10-12-95
