A native of New Iberia, LA and resident of New Orleans, recently of New Iberia, Olivia passed at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center surrounded by her family.
She was a member of Star Temple Baptist Church of New Iberia, LA and former member of Christian Mission Baptist Church of New Orleans where she served as member of the Beautify Club, Pastor Aide and Choir; she was also a member of Southern General Association Choir in New Orlans, LA.
She leaves to cherish her memory and in God's care one daughter Betty Lewis Brown (Theodore) of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother Jonathan Segura (Stella) of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters, Josephine Henry of Port Arthur, TX, Lillian Spencer of New Iberia, LA and Naomi Carney of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren 31 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, four godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She now joins in glory with her husband, Daniel Davis; parents, Joseph Segura and Olecia Tyler Segura; six sisters, Loretta Anthony, Lovenia Robertson, Vanilla Boudreaux, Virginia Polk, Christine Antoine, and Lillie Segura; four brothers, Alphonse Segura, Alfred Segura, Ambrose Segura and Joseph Segura.
Active pallbearers will be Ferrell Breston, Alonzo Breston, Ralph Polk, Gregory Antoine, Nelson Kelly, and Ben Smith, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Breston, Samuel Berfect, Shedrick Berfect, Sornell Berfect, Jonathan Segura, Ulysses Polk, Lloyd Antoine, and Theodore Brown.
Final arrangements entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Home, 609 W. Admiral Doyle Drive, New Iberia, LA. Condolences may be expressed at www.fletcherfuneralhomes.org.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday at the church beginning at 4:00 p.m.- until time of funeral services. Visitation services will resume at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Christian Mission Baptist Church, 1477 N. Robertson, New Orleans, LA. with Pastor Morris Daniels, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
