Wilma Jean Wynn Hunter died at her home on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. She was 88 years old, born in Muhlenberg County and lived in the Bancroft community all her life. Her parents were Ward and Christa Wynn. After the busy years of being a farm wife and the mother of four children, she turned into a talented painter and a gifted quilter. The First Presbyterian Church and the Muhlenberg County Quilters Guild were very important to her and she worked tirelessly for both. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandsons all have their own quilt collections.

She is survived by two daughters and one son: Diane (Larry) Hammond; Deborah (Billy) McIntosh; and David (Maliah Jo) Hunter. Her five grandchildren are: Mark (Jen) Hammond; Adam (Michelle) McIntosh; Jonathan (Kim) Hunter; Sara (T.J.) Armour; Amanda (Evan) Conrad. The great-grandsons were her joy: Logan and Grant Hunter; Jackson Armour; Hayden and Tucker McIntosh; and Ryland and Cash Hammond. Wilma Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Billy Hunter and her son William Hunter.

Her funeral will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, with visitation on Thursday night at 5:00 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, KY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
