Christopher Allen Christensen, born January 27, 1984 in Denver, Colorado, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006 after courageously facing a life with muscular dystrophy. Survived by parents William and Sherry; brothers Mark and Jason, sister Shanna; grandparents Carl and Carolyn Bacon; 18 uncles and aunts; 48 cousins and children. Grandparents William and Betty Christensen preceded him in death. Christopher loved life and had a deep interest in and understanding of the great Plan of Happiness. He trusted the divine heritage from where he came, showed in word and deed his gratitude for why he was here and looked forward with quiet confidence as to the glory and wonders that would yet come. He considered it an honor and privilege to have the weak, over worked body that so graciously carried him through his mortal sojourn. He graduated from Brighton High in 2002. He had many friends who followed him through life. An Elder in the LDS Church, he held many positions including a mission in the Jordan River Temple. He had a love for nature and Heavenly Father's creations. He loved to create, and had a talent for art. His great adventure was a Make-A-Wish trip to Hawaii. So many in the medical field attended to him, and their services will never be forgotten. Special thanks to doctors Vernon Tolo, Randy Black, Kevin Merkley, Kevin Flanigan, uncles Dr. William Bacon, Dr. Curtis Johnson and Dr. Jared Madsen. A special thanks to his lifelong friend Dr. Bruce Herman who attended him at the end. The joy of Chris' life is his whole eternal family. He, his brothers and sister all faced the difficult road of living with muscular dystrophy. Each faced crisis, setback and sorrow, but also shared success and tender mercies of the Lord. Mark was his hero, Jason his best friend, Shanna his Florence Nightingale. His mother was everything to him and he was her "angel boy". His father was his companion and Chris allowed him to do so much and loved him for doing so. You did it Chris! Viewing Friday, April 28th 7 to 9 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy. Services at the LDS Alta Canyon Chapel, 2400 East Alta Canyon Drive (8610 South), Sandy on Sat., April 29th at 12:00 noon, viewing from 10:30-11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Christensen Family Trust c/o James E.
