Willis B. Hatch, 81, of Boise, died in his home as a result of cancer. Willis was born Feb. 7, 1924 in Hatch, ID to Ira and Ida Hatch. He grew up in Boise, Meridian, and Kuna, Idaho.
Willis graduated from Kuna High School in 1942.
He joined the Army in August of 1943 and served both stateside and in the Western Pacific. He received an Honorable Discharge in January 1946.
Upon returning home from the service, Willis attended auto mechanic school and worked as an auto mechanic. After a few years of being a mechanic he changed occupations and ran a large dairy farm until 1960 when he went to work for the Western Idaho Fairgrounds. Willis retired as grounds supervisor in 1986.
Willis married Glenna Jean Brown in 1950. They had three children Willis Michael, ReJeana Lynn, and Pamela. Willis and Glenna divorced in 1962.
Willis enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing pool and reading Louis L'Amour westerns. After his retirement he spent time traveling and fishing with his good friend Barbara Kirkham.
Willis had lots of friends and was known for his quiet, easy going nature and sense of humor. He will be missed by many.
Willis is preceded in death by his parents Ira and Ida Hatch; his sisters Iretta Hatch, Margaret Cottle, Jenny Vaughn, and Barbara Jones; and his brother Joe Hatch.
Willis is survived by his three children and their spouses Mike and Cathy Hatch; ReJeana and Randy Blackburn; and Pamela and Brad Allred; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of Boise. He is also survived by his sisters Mayme Green of Nampa, ID; Louella and Bert Allen of Donnelly, ID; Kathleen and Wally Nakano of Meridian, ID; and LaRene and Gary O'Dell of Kuna, ID.
A viewing will be held Jan. 18th at Relyea Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held Jan. 19, 2006 at Kuna Cemetery.
