Dorothy Lewis "Dot" Biggs, 93, of Odessa joined her loved ones Monday, October 20, 2014 passing away at Deerings Nursing Home. She was born March 8, 1921 in Hamilton, Ohio moving to Odessa with her husband and daughter in 1948. Dot belonged to the First Christian Church since their arrival in Texas in 1948, the members have been so wonderful over the years. She was an active member of the church until her health would no longer permit. She was a loving mother and wife her love, faith and nursing skills allowed her to care for her husband Carl until his death in 1969, and then Henry until his death in 1993.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harry & Elizabeth Harmeyer, (2) sisters Rosemary Goebelt & Thelma Miller, her husbands' Carl Lewis & Henry Biggs, son-in-law Donnie Trimble. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Lewis Trimble of Odessa, brother, George Harmeyer of 29 Palms, CA, many adopted kids, grandkids, numerous nieces, nephews, and her beloved cat "Stranger".
She enjoyed making quilts and especially wanted those she loved to have one. She loved working with her hands and the results were obvious in her crochet, needle work and ceramic
Viewing will be held from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 23, 2014 at First Christian Church with Pastor Joe Weaks officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
