On their way to church, the entire family was killed when their vehicle was struck by a train.
Walter Bozarth was born near Batavia. At the age of two, his family moved to Hebron, Nebraska. Graduated the University of Nebraska with a degree in civil engineering.
Worked for the railroad in Wyoming. Had farmed in Nebraska, California, and Illinois.
When he came to Jacksonville he was employed at Illinois Steel Bridge Company for a while.
Married Edith Ticknor on May 6, 1918.
