Montgomery Johnson, age 74, of Mary Esther, Fla., passed away Thursday, March 10, 1998, in Destin, Fla.
Montgomery was born in Pittsburg, Ky., on July 29, 1923, to George and Maggie Johnson. He had been a resident of this area since 1981. Montgomery was in World War II, where he served under Gen. Patton in the U.S. Army.
Montgomery is survived by his wife, Vernell Johnson of Mary Esther; son, Donnie Lee and wife Sandra Johnson of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at McLaughlin Mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
