Age 91, of Blair passed away Sunday, October 19th at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
Art served in the army until his father passed away and came home to farm. He married Marilyn Reeh of Fort Calhoun on January 16, 1949. He continued to farm all his life in Washington County. He spent his spare time restoring antique tractors.
Arthur served as President of the School Board at Goll School, was a member of Burt-Washington County Drainage Board, a member of the American Legion, and was the President of the Blair Rural Fire Board.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Jeffrey of Blair and special fried Lyn Pfaltzgraff of Omaha; daughter and husband, Sue and Duane Hilgenkamp of Arlington; grandson, Brandon (Abbie) Kempcke; granddaughter, Kiley (Nate) Huber; granddaughter, Angie (Jimmy) March; granddaughter, K.C. Hilgenkamp; great-grandsons, Jackson Kempcke, Benton Huber and Riley March; and great-grandaughters, Kember and Havah Huber, Heidi, Zoe and Maggie March, and Kendall Kempcke.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Paul and Elvena Kempcke; and brothers, Eldred and Gordon.
FUNERAL SERVICES Thursday at 10am at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial in the Blair Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday at Campbell Aman with family receiving friends from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Blair Rural Fire District.

He was known for his big, booming voice, cheerfully greeting, "Hi, Neighbor!" Others remembered the
wonderful parties he and his wife had, in a special building on their property.
He always loved John Deere's, and drove John Deere tractors in many city parades. He will be missed.

Pastor Pam Ciulla officiated at the funeral service. The organist was Clare Cowing, and Grant Kubie sand "Lead Me Home". The congregation sang, "I Know My Redeemer Lives".
Pallbearers were Paul Kempcke, Phil Kempcke, Bruce Kempcke, B.J. Kempcke, Nate Huber, Jimmy March.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Mitch Sorensen, Lowell Sorensen, Mike Mackie, Jason Kubie.
