He was born on July 3, 1936 in Boardman Township, Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Henry William Siegel Sr. and the late Mary L. (Lyntz) Siegel - Martin.
Hank had retired from the Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital in Youngstown as a supervisor of Data Processing, after serving the hospital for 20 years. He was a member of the North Georgetown First Brethren Church, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a 32 Degree Mason of the Perry Lodge No. 185 F. & A.M., a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem (Ruth Shrine No. 64), the Argus Masonic Lodge, a 1954 graduate of Poland High School, a member of the Blind Support Group at the Youngstown VA Center, and a former charter member of the former Hanoverton Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Shirlene Rose Bowman, whom he married on Aug. 18, 1957.
He is also survived by his daughter, Amy Lynn Torrence (Michael Langer) of North Lima; a son, Kevin William Siegel of Carlisle, Pa.; two sisters, Marilyn J. (Terry L.) Samuels of Poland and Margaret & amp;#147;Peg & amp;#148; (William) Brenneman of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Amanda Siegel of East Rochester, Laura Burns of Struthers, and Ryan Siegel of Sebring; one great-grandchild, Xaviar O & amp;#146;dell of East Rochester; a niece, Lynn (Rick) Dosky of Columbus; two nephews, Commander Mark William (Jennifer) Samuels, U.S. Navy, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Lt. Commander Bradley William (Kim) Brenneman, U.S. Coast Guard Reserve of Lovettsville, Va.
A Celebration of Life service will be observed on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at the First Brethren Church, North Georgetown, with Pastor Ronald W. Waters officiating. The burial will follow at the Masonic Garden of Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. In joint cooperation, the Salem Amvets Post 45 and the VFW Post 892 will provide full military honors at the cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home in Salem and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
The Perry Masonic Lodge No. 185 F. & A.M. will hold a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.
