Arlene Scott Young age 91formerly of Bassett went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 19, 2014 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center. She was born January 10, 1923 in
Henry, VA to the late Eulys Bunyan “E.B.”, and Lula Maude McGhee Scott. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by one grandson, Dwayne Callaway, one brother, Reginald Scott, and one sister Christine Chitwood.

She was a long time member of Fort Trial Baptist Church, and had worked as a homemaker and clerk at local department stores.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Walls and Judith Bryant, both of Collinsville, two brothers, Billy Jackson Scott of Fieldale, and James Hurd Scott of Bassett, two sisters, Phalamaude Ingram of Martinsville, and Jackie Newman of Bassett, four grandchildren, Scott Bryant, Jennifer Joyce, Tracy Hamilton, and Regina Nunn, and four great grandchildren, Ashley Nunn, Evy Bryant, Spencer Joyce, and Colton Joyce.

The funeral service will be Wednesday October 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Tony Beach officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel on Wednesday, and at other times at the home of her daughter Judith Bryant, 519 Murphy Road, Collinsville.
