At her home, five miles southeast of Piqua, O., Dec. 29, 1884. Catherine Miller, wife of Elias Miller, aged 89 years, 11 months and 3 days.
The deceased was born in Mason county, Kentucky in 1795. She moved to Butler county, O., at an early date where she lived until 1838, at which time, accompanied with her husband, with whom she had lived over _9 years, she came to this county.
Sister Miller was a consistent member of the U. B. Church over 60 years. Her religion was pre-eminently living religion. Ready to sacrifice for others, not only her own family shared her sympathy, her affection, her loving counsel and her helping hand, but also seven orphan children, that were cared for under her roof, now rise up and call her blessed.
She leaves a husband, no 93 years old, three sons and four daughters, a very large circle of grandchildren, together with other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. The funeral service was held at the house on Wednesday, by the Rev. Ira D. Hall, of the first Baptist Church of this place. The remains were conveyed to the Fletcher Cemetery.
