Reba E. Barnes, 60 of Watervliet passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, with family by her side. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Niles. Reba was born on Oct. 3, 1954, in Coloma to Leon and Joyce Franklin. Over the years she has worked at E.S. Enterprises, Coloma Frozen Foods, Saluto Foods, J.L. French, Elite Bar, and BT’s Pub just to mention a few. Reba enjoyed gardening, knitting, the beach, motorcycling, playing pool and especially enjoyed cooking for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Cyndi Martinez of Elkhart, Ind.; her sister, Joyce (Ron) Busse of Ludington; four grandchildren: Steve Franklin, Patrick Reck, Zach Martinez and Ricky Martinez; great-grandchildren: Brock, Tyson, Daisy, and Quintin and several nephews. She is also survived by many friends including John Reese and Charlene Bahus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Rachel Franklin and her grandson, Alejandro Martinez.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, Oct. 25 from 1-4 p.m. at the Board of Trade in Watervliet. Please bring a dish to pass. In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted for burial expenses at Chemical bank in c/o Reba Barnes-Charlene Bahus.
