Doris Marie McJunkin Lyons, 77, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Monday morning in a Charleston hospital.

Her funeral will be 1:00 PM Thursday afternoon, October 23, 2014, in the Salem Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.

Mrs. Lyons was born October 7, 1937, in Prosser, Washington, a daughter of William Sam McJunkin and Mary Derreck McJunkin. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church, a former attendant at C&W Laundromat, and enjoyed baking and sewing. Mrs. Lyons was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Dean Lyons and Raymond Karl Lyons, a sister, Ethel Bradburn, a brother, Frank McJunkin, and a granddaughter, Tiffany Burbage.

Surviving are, her husband of sixty-one years, James P. “Jim” Lyons; three daughters, Paula Lyons Huff and her husband, Newton, Gloria Lyons Carter, and Cindy Lyons Murphy and her husband, Walter, all of Moncks Corner; ten grandchildren, Amanda Lyons Sweat, Erica Lyons Fann, James Ray “J.R.” Lyons, Buddy Huff, Shawn Huff, Priscilla Burbage, Chantelle Palasio, Ronald Murphy, Karl Lyons, and Arthur Lyons; ten great grandchildren, Corey Layman, D.J. Atchley, Jordanne White, Trevor Atchley, Morgan Fann, Aiden Palasio, Kevin Fann, Jr., Ricky Fann, Gage Huff, and Josh Huff; and five great-great grandchildren, Karly Fann, Dakota White, Kennedy Fann, Kristabella Atchley, and Brielle “Breezy” Layman.
