His mother died in 1923 and his father remarried to Florence Ryle of Montpelier.
He was the youngest and only surviving of five children, Doris (William) Clarke, Frederick T. (Kathleen Theriault), Louise (Stanley Nadolski) and Sister Margaret of the Dominican Life.
After his retirement he moved from Montpelier to Moretown.
Attended St. Michael's High School, North Hampton Business School in Massachusetts, then Penn State University for a year and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1940. Throughout his schooling he participated in band activities
Married Verna Helen Conrad from Moretown in 1941, She was the daughter of William Conrad and Cora Eaton.
Enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) in 1942 where he became a B-25 bomber pilot. He as wounded during a night air raid by the Germans in 1944 after he arrived in Italy. He served the remainder of the war as a pilot trainer.
He was worked in his father's oil business with his brother. The business was sold in 1960 then he began a new fuel oil company "Sequin Heating Oils". He sold the business at the time of his retirement.
He was very active in the community especially as a member of the Kiwanis club. After he retired he continued to be vary active in the community and his parish of St. Patrick's Church in Moretown
He and his wife had 4 children. Survived by seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
He enjoyed maintaining his home and the company of his 2 cats.
