Flora Ellen Abbott Harvey, 98 of White Plains, Ky joined her heavenly Father and her heavenly family on January 30, 2014 at her home. She was born December 8, 1915 in Butler Co. to the late Sam and Lizetta (Cartwright) Abbott. Mrs. Harvey was a faithul member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church for 70 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Harvey; son, 'Honey Bee' Harvey; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Kester Arnold and Nancy Daughtery; eight brothers, Luther, Rupert, Rufus, Wilbur, Parlon, Charles, Norman, and Wilbur Abbott.
Flora was the sixth child of thirteen children. She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Perkins of Cadiz and Bonnie Williams of Evansville; as well as five of her six children, twenty grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and twenty five great great grandchildren.
Her surviving children and their families are: Polly (Kenny) Johnston [Tim, Joy, Tony, and Sam], Jane Smith [Mike, Trina, and Penny], David (Rosemary) Harvey [Keelie, Sandy, and Stephen], Beverly Jackson [John, Stacia, Jenny, Eric, and Quintin], Rita Harvey [Scotty, Lorie, and Brandi] and Judy Burden [Ty and Tori].
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and an extended family of significant others that knew her as 'Grandma'.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in White Plains.
