SALTVILLE, Va. Elizabeth Ann Mobley, age 70, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at her home in Saltville, Va. Mrs. Mobley was married to her husband, James, for 50 years. She was a strong independent woman who loved her family and her friends. Ann was known to her grandchildren as Mawmaw. She raised two of her grandchildren as her own, Jessica Phillips and Meghann Pakacki. Ann was crazy about her family. If you left her home hungry, it was your fault. Mrs. Mobley passed away peacefully at her home after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She was deeply loved and cared for by her family. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Southwest Virginia and especially Amanda Fink. Mrs. Mobley was preceded in death by her husband, James Eugene Mobley Sr; and parents, Stonewall Jackson and Sarah Keesee. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Sheets and husband Tony, and Lori Ann Harris and husband Billy, of Saltville, Va., and Marianne Mobley of Marion, Va.; sons, Michael Dean Mobley and wife Tessie, of West Virginia, and James Eugene Mobley Jr. and special friend Shelia Colston, of Saltville, Va.; grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Ashley and husband Stephen, Danielle and husband Ben, Carrie Brooke, Jaima, Casey, Cheyenne and husband Matt, Nicole, Tori, Michael and wife Jennifer, Carly Beth, and Zoey; and her faithful dog, Buddy. Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 19, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Don Petty and Pastor Tim Best officiating. Graveside service will be Monday, October 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Elizabeth Cemetery, Saltville, Va. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
