Mr. Garrett was born in Santa Rosa, Fla. and had been a resident of WNC for the past several years. He was a veteran of World War II.
He was the husband of Myrtle Peters Garrett who died in 2001.
Surviving are his sons, Dalton C. and Gary R. Garrett; and five grandchildren.
