William Robert (Bob) Brown, 84, of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, May 1, 2006. He was born February 16, 1922, in Alluwe, Oklahoma to Robert T. and Ina Verneice Brown. After receiving his Associate's Degree from Coffeyville Junior College, Mr. Brown proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1945. He then began his career in the Petroleum industry as a Landman, working for both Phillips and Home Petroleum. Mr. Brown was involved in many civic and social organizations, including the Shriners, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Bridgebuilders Sunday School Class, and the Masons where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Brown was preceeded in death by his parents; his brother J. Terrence Brown; and his son, Richard Lynn Brown. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley W. Brown; his daughter, Kathleen Brown Waugh and her husband, Lloyd; his son, Robert C. Brown and his wife, Marcy; his brother, Gerald Brown and his wife, Laura; grandchildren, Paul Brown, Christy Brown Grosjean, Cliff Stahl, Tyler Brown and Kendall Waugh; and his great grandchildren, Lauren Brown, Joseph Grosjean, Daniel Grosjean, and Drew Stahl. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, with Dr. Charles B. Simmons, Rev. James H. McPhail and Rev. Suzanne C. Reedstrom officiating. A reception will follow at the church. For those so desiring, memorials in honor of Mr. Bob Brown may be made to the charity of your choice.
