Born on July 24, 1929, to the late Albert Franklin Johnson and Mettie Finley Johnson Ball, Mrs. Black was a graduate of Liberty High School. She was a devout Christian, a steadfast servant of her Lord, faithful to her time of personal devotions, prayer and reading her Bible. Vivian was also a skillful seamstress and an excellent cook, but most of all she was a loving mother.
Mrs. Black is survived by a son, Andrew J. Black, Jr. (Leona), of Overland Park, KS; four daughters, Linda Smiddy (Tennie), of Chattanooga, TN, Kathy Childs, of the Home, Joyce Kelley (Ben), of Pickens, and Faith Hawn (Doug), of Easley; two brothers, Doyle and Olin Johnson, both of Easley; a sister, Dorothy Sink, of Liberty; seven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one granddaughter, Lori Smiddy Davis.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home.
