MRS. MARY ELLEN BROWN
Widow of Daniel L. Brown, a for-
mer resident of Martinsburg, died
yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock
at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Bertram Baker of 325 Poplar
street, Roaring Spring, death being
attributed to a complication of ail-
ments incident to advanced age.
She was the daughter of James
and Sarah (Johnson) Skyles and
was born at Marklesburg Jan. 28,
1862. She was married to Mr.
Brown Oct. 21, 1881, in St. John's
Reformed church, Martinsburg, by
Rev. David Miller. Mr. Brown
died 21 years ago. Surviving are
two daughters, Mrs. Baker, at
whose home she died and Mrs.
George Lingenfelter of Hollidays-
burg; one son, James Brown of
Martinsburg, and 11 grandchildren
and 14 great-grandchildren. Three
sons, William E., Earl V. and
Mahlon R., are deceased. Mrs.
Brown was a member of St. Mat-
thew's Lutheran church, Martins-
burg. Friends will be received at
the Hite Brothers funeral home in
Roaring Spring this evening from
7 to 9 o'clock and after 7 o'clock
Wednesday evening at the Herbert
Brown home on South Market
Street, Martinsburg.
