Ella Lee Johnson, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 18. She was born on May 28, 1921 in Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Edgar Willard and her sister, Edna Mae Hallum.
She is survived by Wallace, her beloved husband of 71 years, daughter Holly Sietsema and husband David, son Clay Johnson and wife Michele, grandchildren Carrie Sietsema, David Clayton Sietsema, Bobby Johnson, Matt Johnson, niece Barbara Bayliss, brother-in-law Charles Johnson, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
At a young age, her family moved from Louisiana to Texas before making their home in Longview. She graduated from Longview High School and Kilgore Junior College before marrying Lieutenant Wallace B. Johnson of the United States Army Air Corp., during WWII.
Ella Lee was a sweet, kind, compassionate woman who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She liked to golf and even scored two holes in one. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She worked out at a fitness center until the age of 90!
The family wishes to thank the staff at Regency Village Care Center who provided loving care during the past 18 months of her life and also to all who so kindly and professionally participated in her care the last few days of her life at Seton Southwest Hospital.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday, 10/22 at 2:00 pm at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, Texas 78745.
