On March 13, 1881 he was united in marriage with Miss Anna A. Marlowe of near Newtown, Indiana. Into their home were born six children, three of whom survive, the others died in infancy.
Thirty-one years ago, Mr. Conn with his family moved to Brook, where he has since made his home. During these years he has been engaged in the livery stable and taxi service.
About two years ago last October, his health began to fail, but he sufficiently recovered from his illness of that time to pursue his regular work. Last Sunday evening about six o'clock he was stricken and continuously grew worse until death came to claim him near one o'clock Monday morning.
When sixteen year of age he united with the Baptist Church at Newtown and after his removal to Brook, he united with the Brook Christian Church of which he was an active member, being an elder at the time of his death.
Mr. Coon was also a member of the I.O.O.F. and of the M.W.A. He was a good and industrious citizen, and held the respect of the entire community.
Besides the companion of his married life, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Anna Hyde of Warsaw, Ind., one brother, I.W. of Shelbyville, Ind., two daughters, Mrs. J.W. King of Frankfort, Mrs. C.F. Frasier of Terre Haute, one son, Percy of Frankfort, three grandchildren, one great-grand child and a large number of more distant relatives and friends, mourn his departure.
