Lindsey Jeanne Smith (Slate), 22 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010. She was born March 14, 1988 in George Air Force Base, California, moving to Antioch in 1996. Lindsey was known for her bubbly, charismatic personality. She was an uninhibited free spirit who touched the lives of everyone she met. Lindsey had a true passion for life and wanted to experience everything life had to offer. Everyone who knew her knew what a dreamer she was, She was a true artist in every way. She was fully versatile and did well in every endeavor she set her mind to, whether it be acting, singing, painting or poetry. She had a beautiful soul and creative flair for fashion all her own. Lindsey would say "always follow your heart and be true to who you are". Survivors include her mother Linda Slate (J. Torrez) of Antioch, her brother Cameron Slate of Antioch, her grandmother Terry Jeanne Lemons of Trevor, WI, her aunt Lana M. LeMons (Jeff Vitt) of Antioch, her two uncles Wesley (Ronda) Lemons Jr. and Robert (Elizabeth) Lemons both of Trevor, WI and her cousins, Nik and Kirsten Dittel, Michael and Wesley Lemons, Patrick and Nathan Quendenfeld and Brittany, Chelsea, Sierra, Bobby and Brandon Lemons. She was preceded in death by Wesley Lemons, Sr. and Billy Lemons. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St, (Rte 83) with interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM Wed. Friends desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or to a family memorial.
