Thomas Scott Larsen
"Tommy"
Thomas Scott Larsen (Tommy) was born July 22, 2014. He was welcomed with tears of happiness by his mother and father and adoring older brothers Luke and Parker and his sister, "Little Mama", Hannah. Even though he was born with half of a heart, he had more love in his little eight pound body than most people have in a lifetime.
He was born to his loving parents, Steve and Elizabeth Larsen, who both survive him and will grieve his loss always. He is also survived by his doting siblings. His aunts, uncles, and cousins loved him with everything they had. His grandparents, Scott and Betty Cowdell and Tom and Linda Larsen have a hole in their hearts that will never be filled.
We lost our sweet boy suddenly on October 11, 2014. We will never forget the efforts made by his Aunt Gina, his Uncle Nate, and his brother Luke made in trying to save his life. We will always be grateful that Tommy passed peacefully in the arms of his Uncle Matt who love him dearly. They are heroes.
Our love for the staff at Primary Children's Hospital knows no bounds. Especially Dr. Eckhauser who, through surgery, provided us with the best two and a half months of our lives. Dr. Menon and Dr. Miller who were able to diagnose him prenatally and gave Tommy a fighting chance. Sonja Ohsiek who called to check on him at least weekly and was so proud of his progress. Dr. Blackburn, his pediatrician, who cared for him and loved him.
Our sweet baby touched so many lives, even people who didn't know him. He was a light. A ray of the purest sun. A treasured soul, so treasured the heavens wanted him back very quickly. He was no doubt welcomed by his loving great grandmothers. The heavens wept when he returned. A wild storm brought by a giant spirit.
We will always remember and feel the light and spirit he brought into our home and our hearts.
"We do not need to worry, because our children were born in the covenant. We have the assurance that we will have them with us in the future. Now we have a reason to live extremely well." Richard G. Scott
