"Utto C. Proper, aged 60, a prominent oil operator of Paden City, W.Va., but native of Wallaceville, this county, died in Paden City of apoplexy on Sunday. Until 20 years ago, when he went to West Virginia, his entire life was spent at Wallaceville, and where he married Miss Spangler, who survives him, together with the following children: Mrs. Elva Fogel and Homer Proper, both of Connellsville, Okla.; Mrs. J.E. Taylor, Okmulgee, Okla.; Miss Gladys Proper, Paden City, W.Va.; Mrs. Frank Weir, Wallaceville. Also by two brothers, N.G. proper, Petroleum Center, and W.T. Proper, St. Marys, W.Va.
The funeral party will arrive in Oil City on Tuesday, but the funeral and interment will be in Wallaceville."
