Marvin “Lanny” Stone went to be with his lord and savior on Oct. 18, 2014. He was born to Marvin Lee and Leta Joyce (Nichols) Stone on Oct. 8, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He graduated from Putnam City Schools in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart Iris on Sept. 27, 1952 and renewed vows on their 50th anniversary. He was a police officer and security guard and was known as “Stoney” to many. He sang in the choir at church and was an active member of Nicoma Park Baptist Church until his health prevented him from attending. He loved camping and fishing and took his family on many outings.

Marvin is survived by his wife Iris Stone of Choctaw; 5 children Marvin (Sharon ) Stone of Nicoma Park, Tim Stone and fiancée Tina Fisher of Chickasha, Jan (Donnie) Hart of Abilene, Tx, Joy (Gary) Hahn of Oklahoma City, Elaine (Michael) Alston of Choctaw. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and Sister Nancy Carol Ross.

Graveside service will be held 10 AM Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Chapel Hill Cemetery with a public memorial service at 2 PM Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Nicoma Park.
