Mrs. Johnnie Lou Mathews Stevens, 82, of Washington, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 in University Hospital. A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late John Lee and Sallie Mae Harrison Mathews. She was retired from textile manufacturing and was a member of Lakeside Bible Chapel. Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Adolphus Stevens, Jr.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 19th in Lakeside Bible Chapel at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Vicki Stevens, of Washington; one son and daughter in law, Ricky and Lisa Stevens, of Washington; two sisters, Evelyene (Marvin) Moon, Lexington and Viola Dale, of Douglasville; one sister in law, Sue Davis, of Washington; 2 grandchildren, Leah Stevens and Scott Stevens and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for one hour before service time.
