Fern Lois Bates Robison passed away at the age of 101. She was born to to Ephraim and Hettie Mae Judd Bates. She attended public school in Wanship and two years at the University of Utah. She married Burton Henry Robison on April 28, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and moved to his ranch in Spring Valley where they built a successful livestock operation. She attributed her longevity to working hard, and often said she wouldn't trade her experiences on the ranch for anything. She had many interests in the arts, including singing, playing the violin, literature, poetry and theater. Mrs. Robison is survived by her brother, Keith Bates of Denver, Colo., and three children: Reed Robison of Ely and Donna Christiansen and Karol Garrett, both of Reno. She also took great joy in her 15 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
