Bobbie E. Evans, 84, of Clinton, Missouri, died Thursday afternoon, October 16, 2014, at his home in Clinton.

He was born February 22, 1930, in Clinton, Mo., the son of James Robert Evans and Clara Nadine (Linn) Evans. On August 6, 1956, also in Clinton, he married Daisy Maxine Yearout and she survives of the home.

Mr. Evans worked for the United State Postal Service for almost 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until 1954. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clinton. He was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader and an honorary member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say of the Boy Scouts. Enjoying hunting, fishing, water skiing, and camping made him an avid outdoorsman. Cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals and working in his yard were also things he enjoyed.

In addition to his wife, Maxine, survivors include 2 sons, Rick E. Evans and Julie, Clinton, Mo.; and Timothy E. Evans and his wife Sherri, Bentonville, Arkansas; 2 grandsons, Chris Evans and his wife Ashley, Ozark, Mo.; and Chad Evans, Springfield, Mo.; a granddaughter, Maleigha Evans, Bentonville, Ark.; a great-granddaughter, Andie Evans; a great-grandson, Campbell Evans; 3 brothers, Donn Evans and his wife Mary, Clinton, Mo., Kenny Evans and his wife Judy, Warsaw, Mo., and David "Red" Evans and his wife Marsha, Clinton, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Doris Murphy, a brother, Eldon Evans, and a grandson, Chantry Evans.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, Mo., with Rev. Brad Reed officiating. Burial will be in Vansant Road Cemetery, Clinton, (formerly Clinton Memory Gardens), with military honors under the direction of the Clinton V.F.W. Post #1894. The family will receive friends Monday morning before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
