Mrs. Mary B. Canan died at 8 pm Monday at her home, 1325 1/2 Buffalo Street, following an illness of several months. She was born January 21, 1860, daughter of Stephen F. and Eliza McMillan Stroup, and was the last surviving member of her family,
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, of the Women's Bible Class, and was active in all affairs of the church and Sunday School.
She married Charles J. Canan, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son, J. R. Canan of Detroit, MI; three daughters, Mrs. Clifton MacDonald of Oil City, Miss Mary E. Canan of Franklin, and Miss Ruth Canan of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Miss Mary Louise Gorndt of Cleveland, Miss Mary MacDonald of Warren, and Miss Sara Jane MacDonald of Tucson, AZ.
Services will be at 2:30 pm Thursday at Boyd N. Park Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Benjamin Bunn Royer officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
