She was born December 1, 1958 in Hot Springs to Louis and Onita Shinkle.
Nita was the Executive Housekeeper for the Arlington Hotel for over 21 years. She was a people person who never met a stranger. Nita loved camping and sitting around a good campfire, but her greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and “Nana”. Nita was loved and cherished by all whose lives she touched.
She was predeceased by her father and brother, Louis Shinkle Jr.
Nita is survived by her loving husband, James Davis of Hot Springs; daughter, Stephanie (David) Hopson of Van Buren; son, Matthew (Carmen) Davis of Hot Springs; mother, Onita Shinkle of Hot Springs; brothers, Danny (Brenda) Shinkle, Gary Shinkle and Ed (Diane) Shinkle, all of Hot Springs; sister, Pamela Shinkle of Maumelle; grandchildren, Elizabeth “Izzy” Hopson, Susan “Gini” Davis and Madilyn “Madi” Davis; aunt, Judy Archer of Ripon, California; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Harvey officiating.
Burial will follow in New Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
